Your admin goes out on family leave Monday for eight weeks. Now what?

Nobody opens a req for eight weeks. So the work gets absorbed.

Someone in Sales Ops picks up the keys. They know the platform well enough to be useful, but they’ve never managed it. Permission sets get set up innocently because a director asked nicely. A validation rule gets deactivated to push a deal through and nobody turns it back on. A flow starts failing and the error emails route to an inbox no one reads. (I’m sure you have lots more examples.)

Eight weeks of small decisions, each one reasonable on its own, made by someone with an incomplete understanding of how to manage the Org and look at things strategically.

Then your admin comes back. They spend their first month fixing and patching everything instead of building anything new. That’s the month they were supposed to be easing back in.

This never gets budgeted because nobody considers the impacts. Companies are used to short term coverage for holidays, not for longer absences.

It is a headcount issue that never triggers a hiring req.

To solve it, Oakcrest started doing both. Direct hire when the seat needs to be filled permanently, and fractional staffing when you need someone in the Org next week. We can provide a half time or full time admin, a part time architect keeping design decisions moving, or someone who can answer the Agentforce questions your CFO keeps asking.
